Carmel Myers

American silent film actress, born in 1899 in San Francisco. She rose to prominence at Universal in the late 1910s and became a popular leading lady of the 1920s, often cast as exotic or glamorous types. Her credits include Ben-Hur (1925) and Beau Brummel (1924). With the arrival of sound she moved into television and later ran a successful real estate business. She died in 1980.
