Carl Theodor Dreyer
2 credits on HibingeTV
Danish film director, born in 1889, regarded as one of the masters of cinema. His films are spare, austere, and built around faces. He made only a handful of features over a long career, including The Passion of Joan of Arc (1928), Vampyr (1932), Day of Wrath (1943), and The Word (1955). He worked slowly and fought constantly with producers over final cut, which is part of why his output was so small and so controlled.
