Candace Hilligoss

American actress. Born in 1935, Hilligoss is best known for her lead role as Mary Henry in Carnival of Souls (1962), Herk Harvey's cult horror film. She appeared in a small number of films and television roles in the 1960s before leaving acting. Her performance in Carnival of Souls, detached and uneasy, is a large part of what gives the film its unsettling tone.
