Bert I. Gordon

American film director, producer, and screenwriter (1922-2023) nicknamed "Mr. B.I.G." for his specialty in giant monster films. He directed Tormented (1960), The Amazing Colossal Man (1957), Earth vs. the Spider (1958), and Village of the Giants (1965). His low-budget effects, often achieved by projecting rear-screen footage of real animals at exaggerated sizes, became his trademark.
