Ben Sharpsteen

American animator and director (1895-1980) who worked at Walt Disney Productions from the late 1920s through the 1950s. He animated early Mickey Mouse shorts including When the Cat's Away (1929) and later directed and produced Disney features and nature documentaries, winning two Academy Awards for his True-Life Adventures.
