American film actress, singer, and producer (1901-1971) who began her career as a child actress in silent films, starring alongside Harold Lloyd in his early comedies before moving to Paramount as a leading lady. She starred in Dixiana (1930) and numerous other films of the silent and early sound era. Later she moved to England and became a major radio and television star.
