1 credit on HibingeTV
Polish-born actress, born Anna Sophie Ondrakova in 1902. She became a star of German and Czech silent cinema in the 1920s and was cast by Alfred Hitchcock in Blackmail (1929), Britain's first talkie. Her strong Polish accent was an issue for sound film, so her dialogue was dubbed off-screen by Joan Barry while Ondra mouthed the words. She later starred in a series of German comedies produced by her husband, the boxer Max Schmeling. She died in 1987.
