Ann Savage

American film actress. Born in 1921, Savage is best known for her role as Vera in Detour (1945), a hard, scheming woman whose scenes with Tom Neal are among the most corrosive in film noir. She appeared in numerous B-pictures and westerns in the 1940s and 1950s. She returned to acting late in life with a role in Guy Maddin's My Winnipeg (2007). She died in 2008.
