Alma Rubens

American silent film actress, born in 1897. She rose to stardom at Triangle and Paramount, with notable roles in The World and Its Woman (1919) and Humoresque (1920). Her career was cut short by drug addiction, which she documented in a posthumously published memoir. She died in 1931.
