Allen Holubar

American film actor and director of the silent era, born in 1888. He played Captain Nemo in 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (1916) and later became a prominent director-producer of serious dramas such as The Heart of Humanity before his early death in 1923 from pneumonia following surgery.
