Queen of the Amazons

Jungle pulp from Screen Guild Pictures. Jean Preston (Patricia Morison) flies to Africa to find her missing fiancé, last seen hunting ivory on a safari that vanished into forbidden territory. With safari guide Gary Lambert (Robert Lowery) and comic-relief cook Gabby (J. Edward Bromberg), she penetrates the jungle realm of Zita, the Amazon queen — a white goddess ruling a tribe that traffics in enslaved men. Cheap, fast, and unabashedly lurid, it is Poverty Row adventure filmmaking at its most shameless, padded with stock wildlife footage. Its copyright was not renewed; it is in the public domain in the United States.
