Vitagraph Studios

American film studio founded in 1897 by J. Stuart Blackton and Albert E. Smith. One of the most prolific early motion picture producers, Vitagraph made thousands of shorts and features before being absorbed by Warner Bros. in 1925. The studio was an early home of animation, releasing J. Stuart Blackton's experimental animated shorts.
