U.S. Navy

The United States Navy produced documentary films during World War II through its Photographic Center and Field Photographic Branch. John Ford, serving as a Naval Reserve officer, directed The Battle of Midway (1942) and December 7th (1943) for the Navy, and Edward Steichen directed The Fighting Lady (1944).
