The Filmmakers

American independent film production company founded by Ida Lupino and her then-husband Collier Young in the late 1940s. The company produced low-budget films on social issues and crime, several of which Lupino directed, including The Hitch-Hiker (1953) and The Bigamist (1953). It was one of the few independent production companies of the era run by a woman.
