American poverty-row film studio active from 1939 to 1946. PRC produced and distributed low-budget B-pictures, including westerns, mysteries, and horror films. The Devil Bat (1940), starring Bela Lugosi, was its first horror film and one of its biggest hits. The studio was eventually absorbed into Eagle-Lion Films.
