American film studio active from 1931 to 1952 that specialized in low-budget B-pictures. Monogram was one of the leading poverty-row studios, producing westerns, comedies, mysteries, and horror films. It was home to the East Side Kids and Bowery Boys series, distributing Spooks Run Wild (1941) and Ghosts on the Loose (1943). The studio reorganized into Allied Artists in 1952 to pursue higher-budget productions.
