Famous Players Film Company

American film production company founded in 1912 by Adolph Zukor. One of the earliest feature-film studios in the United States, it produced starring vehicles for Mary Pickford and other major performers under the motto "Famous Players in Famous Plays." It merged into Famous Players-Lasky Corporation in 1916, the predecessor of Paramount Pictures.
