American television production company founded by Desi Arnaz and Lucille Ball in 1950. Desilu produced some of the most iconic television series of the era, including I Love Lucy, The Lucy Show, Star Trek, and Mission: Impossible. At its peak, Desilu was one of the largest independent production companies in Hollywood. It was acquired by Gulf+Western in 1967 and merged into Paramount Television.
