American film production company founded by Roscoe "Fatty" Arbuckle and Joseph M. Schenck in 1917. Comique produced Arbuckle's two-reel comedies, many co-starring Buster Keaton, including The Butcher Boy (1917), Out West (1918), and The Garage (1920). When Arbuckle moved to features at Paramount, Keaton took over the Comique studio and began his own series of independent shorts, which became the foundation of his greatest work.
