Formed as a cooperative of independent theater owners to compete with the major studios' distribution networks, it released independent productions in the early and mid-1920s, including Mack Sennett Comedies titles like The Extra Girl (1923). It was one of several short-lived independent distributors that consolidated or folded as the studio system consolidated.
