American Releasing Corporation

American film distribution company that was the precursor to American International Pictures (AIP). Founded in 1954 by Samuel Z. Arkoff and James H. Nicholson, the company distributed low-budget independent films, including Roger Corman's early productions like The Fast and the Furious (1955). It was renamed American International Pictures in 1956.
